Ok
Jaanu, I wanted to take you to watch ‘OK Jaanu’ but then I gave an afterthought
and decided to watch it first, just to check whether my Jaanu would really like
it or not. You no na Jaanu I take care of you and your happiness. Acha listen,
you know I was feeling guilty when I bought a ticket for myself without you. You
no na Jaanu how much I love you….
Well
Jaanu, when I entered the theatre I found there were some three to four pairs
of Jaanus who had already secured some cozy corners for them. I was feeling as
an odd man out. You know what happened when I saw the standy of OK Jaanu which
was strategically placed near the food counter? The tagline of ‘OK Jaanu’ lifted
my spirit . The tagline of OK Jaanu says
‘Figure out Karlenge’ and I felt good all of a sudden, I thought Mai bhi akele
figure out karlunge … without you Jaanu..

Once
the movie began, it didn’t take me much time to figure out that OK Jaanu is
just Ok Ok. Thank God, I didn’t bring you along with me. Meanwhile, I was curious and looking around to
find the plight of those three to four pairs of Jaanus in the theatre. I was happy to find out that
they were all quite engaged trying to figure out each other in the darkness. You
know what Jaanu, you too would have felt like me that ‘OK Kanmani’ was far
better than ‘OK Jaanu’. Shaad Ali has given a mediocre film with a lackluster kind
of a story telling. The two new Jaanus are nowhere near the two Kanmanis -
Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon in acting and depicting chemistry on screen. The whole film appeared in bits and pieces. No
intensity among the lead pairs. It semed they were not living the characters and
were trying hard to be what they were asked to be by the director.

My
God Jaanu, Asli baath tho bolna bhool gaya, the Humma Humma track and the onscreen
Jaanus dancing on the beat was supposed to be romantic but it turned out to be hilarious.
Acha Jaanu tell me one thing, what happened to AR Rahman Saab…. I think you
need to tell him that it’s OK Jaanu we understand that you cannot always give
hit numbers. Well, it’s taking you time to churn out something new and unique
which you used to do earlier but we are your fans sir we can wait for you. But
only for you haan Jaanu.

Jaanu
I hope you remember the kammal ke Jodi of Prakash Raj and Leela Samson, well, here
in OK Jaanu too, Nazeeruddin Shah and Leela Samson has tried to live upto that
but could have been better yaar. I felt that we still have more expectations
from you Jaanu Sir (Nazeeruddin Shah). Somewhere I found a ‘Waiting’ in you in
OK Jaanu. Koi nahin we are Waiting’ for your Dhansuu appearance in your next
project.
Nevertheless
Jaanu, The movie’s concept is good haan. Two parallel love stories – one of a
young couple in live-in relationship and the other two elderly couple in love
with each other at their autumn of their life. Acha suno Jaanu, I must say, yes
there were some moments where my eyes got moist. Especially when Leela Samson
asks Nazeerudin Shah ‘ Acha Paplu agar mai tumhe Bhool gayi tho tumhra kya
honga (What if I forget you … what will
happen to you) ??? Gulzaar Saab’s dialogue used to be so good but I don’t know
this time it was OK OK Jaanu type.
In
short Jaanu, I feel we should let our friends know that if they have seen ‘OK
Kanmani’ they can give a miss to ‘OK Jaanu’. It’s too hollow and superficial Jaanu
except for some beautiful moments of Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson. Save
your money… demonetization ka assar abh bhi jaari hai yaar.
